The Crane’s Beak.

Born from a lifetime of martial arts training, embodied in this blade are the principles gleaned over those decades. Likened to Fairbairn-Sykes dagger due to its narrow profile and feel in the hand, the features of this blade are a more modern approach to that blade’s heavily vetted design.

The Crane’s Beak blade is a streamlined, distilled version of Sinister, serving as a more focused intent to puncture, and post-penetration leveraging. Although narrow from a profile viewpoint, the blade is thick (3/16″) and quite easily passes through material(s) that would otherwise stop a wider blade. This design mimics the evolutionary design of a white crane’s actual beak, which they rely heavily on to spear food, then shake viciously so that they may safely consume it.

Cranes are one of the few species that are selective of their mates, and mate with that chosen one for life. The handle’s profile is more than adequate to mate this blade to your hand, but we’ve gone several steps beyond to ensure grippy-ness when needed and to provide haptic-feedback of the tip’s condition and location. When this blade is needed, you too will know its mated to you for your life.

The edge or the tip? YES! This blade provides a solid thrusting tip that is needle sharp, couple that with a paper slicing edge and you have the perfect tactical knife. This blade was built for self-defense.
This is NOT a bushcrafting or camping knife. The design is optimized for self-protection and not camp chores. The Nitro-V stainless steel is solid, hard, and has great edge retaining abilities. This blade comes sharp and stays sharp.
The custom molded Kydex sheath is a work of art. The gold micro rivets against the textured black kydex is a great contrast. The IWB (inside the waistband) clip creates a solid purchase on your belt and makes blade presentation quick and easy. The clip also provides a swivel that allows you to adjust your blade cant (angle) in your belt.
I wear mine on my right side at about 3 o’clock position. The blade is front facing so when I grip and draw, the blade is in a reverse grip with the tip down. A solid stab from this position is devastating.
Great communication with the Bladesmith, awesome product and super value.

The penetration on this knife is insane. I carry it as a complement to the smaller Dexter, and this is a perfect larger companion. The handle design means great force transfer as well as easy retraction. The sheathing process takes a couple reps to get used to, but the retention and all around feel of the sheath is fantastic.

You’re supporting a great blade maker and solid dude by getting one of these, too!
